Unfortunately we have had to move out of the space in Whitechapel . This was always going to happen but sad all the same when Lloyds bank finally took the keys from out hands.
On the final day Ben (and Obi) took pictures of everything created during this iteration of the Pallet Project.
For six weeks work, all built from materials found on the streets, I feel quite proud of what we have created...
Thanks to everyone who attended the open workshop it was a great success. Thanks especially to Arif Bhuiyan who took all these amazing black and white photos.
Joffrey came to the workshop one friday evening as I was working. After struggling to find work in London he had decided to return to France to attend design school. I encouraged Joffrey to come back before he left London and make some furniture. He returned the following week with the idea of making a coat stand. Amazing.
I have been very fortunate to have access to the Meanwhile space currently located at 3-5 Whitechapel Road. Meanwhile are an amazing group who create temporary leases on empty buildings and use them in a more positive way. Without this space I could never have undertaken the Pallet Project.
